In addition, there are great offers and packages at Hotel Villa Kastelruth. Check them out!

Equestrian tournament Oswald von Wolkenstein

At the end of May, the traditional Oswald von Wolkenstein equestrian tournament takes place in the area of Castelrotto and Völs. In this tournament of medieval origin teams of four compete against each other in four stages on the road from Ponte Gardena to Völs, where the race ends at Prösels Castle with the famous Torritt.

Hiking in spring

The Seiser Alm, the surrounding Dolomites and the plateau of Kastelruth offer an unbeatable hiking and trekking experience also in spring. Whether on the mountains, where the snow fights against the warmth of the sun, or in deeper locations, where the flowering of the spring flowers accompanies the adventurous, there are plenty of incredible places for astonishment and relaxation.

Mountain hikes should be thoroughly prepared. At Hotel Villa Kastelruth we are at your complete disposal to help you organizing your day, giving you local advice and information.

"Kastelruther Spatzen"

The “Kastelruther Spatzen” is South Tyrol’s most famous musical group. They have won many honours and awards for their German “Schlager-Musik”. As their name suggests, the group’s seven members, including lead singer Norbert Rier, all come from the town of Kastelruth and surroundings.

In June the Kastelruther Spatzen organize an open air concert in their home town Kastelruth. The event is one of the largest of its kind in South Tyrol and fix date for all fans of traditional German folk music.

Tradition

Religious festivals have always been important in South Tyrol and traditions and costumes are still lived in Kastelruth. For visitors they are a great way to get to know the country and the people and participate in their everyday life.

Spring awaits you with many special celebrations. Highlights include the great processions in early summer to Corpus Christi and the Ascension.
