Action & Adventure for Everyone

Mountain biking, climbing, paragliding and more!

Guided hiking tours

Join our certified guide Viktor on discovery hikes through the “Pale Mountains” – the Dolomites.

Three times a week, he’ll show you the most scenic trails and spectacular views, and is always happy to help plan your custom mountain adventure.

E-Bike Rental & Tours

Discover cycling in a new light with an e-bike! Thanks to a little electric assistance, breathtaking MTB tours are now within reach even for non-professionals.

In partnership with local providers, we offer affordable rentals and professionally guided tours for every fitness level.

Golf

South Tyrol offers seven scenic golf courses – from Mediterranean greens to alpine fairways. Just a short drive from Castelrotto lies the St. Vigil Seis golf course: 18 holes, par 69, stretching across 60 hectares.

Open from March to November, this course enjoys ideal playing conditions thanks to its 850 m elevation.

Swimming in the Völser Weiher lake

At the foot of the mighty Sciliar lies the laghetto di Fiè, one of Italy’s most beautiful mountain lakes. With water temperatures around 23°C, it’s a perfect spot to cool off on hot summer days. You can even rent a rowboat – and reach the lake easily on foot via a leisurely trail from Castelrotto.

Via Ferrata & Climbing

In collaboration with the Climbing School Schlern, we offer a wide range of routes for climbers of all levels.

Conquer the dramatic rock faces of the Dolomites and enjoy the thrill of their well-marked via ferrata trails. Passionate climbers will also find an excellent bouldering gym just 3 minutes from the hotel in nearby Telfen.

Paragliding

Just a few running steps, and you’re in the air! Take off from Mount Bullaccia (Puflatsch) and soar across the Dolomites with an unforgettable 20-minute tandem flight to Castelrotto. A once-in-a-lifetime view from above – and a memory to keep forever.

Autumn in the Dolomites

The Burning Dolomites – Mountains on Fire

In autumn, the low-hanging sun paints the pale cliffs of the Dolomites with a fiery glow – a natural light show that makes the peaks appear to be ablaze.

To witness this breathtaking phenomenon, our hiking guide organizes special sunset hikes through the forests and meadows around Castelrotto.

Törggelen: A South Tyrolean Tradition

Originating from the farmers’ tradition of tasting each other’s young wine, Törggelen is now a beloved regional custom. It includes hikes from farm to farm and hearty dishes like Speck, Schüttelbrot, homemade sausages, dumplings and Schlutzkrapfen.

Villa Kastelruth is the perfect starting point for your Törggelen adventure – and we’re happy to reserve a table for you in the coziest traditional stuben in the area.

The Kastelruther Spatzen

Europe’s most famous folk music group, the Kastelruther Spatzen, proudly carry the name of their hometown. Since 1983, they’ve enchanted fans with hits like “Eine weiße Rose”.

They perform three times a year in Castelrotto: outdoors in June, during the Spatzen Festival in October, and at the Christmas Market in December. A must for every fan of Alpine music and local culture.
